INTRODUCTION

Petro-Canada’s TRAXON E SYNTHETIC line of lubricants are formulated to meet the “Genuine Roadranger” extended drain and warranty performance requirements set by Eaton Corporation (for transmissions) and Dana CVSD Corporation (for hypoid gears/axles).

TRAXON E SYNTHETIC 75W-90 and 80W-180 are heavy duty, extreme pressure, GL-5 gear lubricants recommended for use in:

• Manual transmissions requiring EP-type oils

• Transfer cases for heavy equipment, trucks and tractors where hypoid gears and axles are used

TRAXON E SYNTHETIC MTF is a synthetic transmission lubricant recommended for use in:

• Heavy duty manual transmissions requiring non-EP oil and where API GL-5 performance is not required or desired

• Severe service conditions

• Extended drain applications

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

TRAXON E SYNTHETIC 75W-90 and 80W-180 These hypoid gear/axle fluids feature a high viscosity index and very low pour point, and contain extreme pressure additives. They are specially formulated to operate under a variety of load conditions and protect hypoid gears and bearings against rust, corrosion and oxidation.

Fuel Economy

• TRAXON E SYNTHETIC 75W-90 has demonstrated up to 1.5%* fuel efficiency benefits over the previous formulation

Long Life

• Extremely high film strength, shear stability and proven anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties protects equipment longer providing reduced maintenance costs

• Exceptional resistance to oxidation provides long lubricant life, thus extending drain intervals between change-outs for maximized oil life and less downtime

All-Season Protection

• High viscosity indices and good low temperature flow properties provide excellent protection over a wide range of temperatures for increased productivity

• Easier manual transmission shifting in sub-zero temperatures for those transmission systems that allow EP oils

• Easier hypoid gear movement under low temperature conditions for better efficiency and less viscous drag versus conventional grades

APPLICATIONS

TRAXON E SYNTHETIC 75W-90 and 80W-180 These products are recommended where heat and wear present major problems. These applications include:

• Manual transmissions where EP type lubricants are recommended by the manufacturer

• Transfer cases for heavy equipment trucks, tractors and industrial axles, hypoid gears and gear drives

• Light and heavy duty trucks and mining, forestry and farm machinery

Both products meet or exceed the performance requirements for:

• API Service Classifications GL-5 and MT-1

• MIL-L-2105D / MIL-PRF-2105E / SAE J2360

• Dana CVSD SHAES 256 Rev E (75W-90 only) and SHAES 429 Rev A.
