Mobil’s product page lists DTE 10 Excel 46 as approved to Bosch Rexroth Fluid Rating List 90245, Denison HF-0, HF-1 and HF-2, Eaton E-FDGN-TB002-E, Krauss-Maffei Hydraulic Oil, Ortlinghaus ON 9.2.10 and 9.2.19, ZF TE-ML 04K and 04R and HOCNF Norway-NEMS, plus Arburg Hydraulic Fluid, Husky, FRAMO and SKF Marine; recommended for Fives Cincinnati P-70; and meeting DIN 51524-2 and 51524-3, ISO L-HV (ISO 11158), ASTM D6158 Class HVHP, GB 11118.1 L-HM/L-HV and JCMAS HK VG46W.

What is Mobil DTE 10 Excel 46 used for?
Mobil positions the DTE 10 Excel Series for industrial and mobile hydraulic systems running at high pressure and temperature in critical applications: CNC machine tools with close-clearance servo valves, systems with cold start-up and high operating temperatures, and machines with mixed metallurgy. Mobil’s own data quotes up to 6% better pump efficiency and up to three times the oil life of its standard hydraulic fluids, and successful operation down to −34 °C.
For standard indoor industrial hydraulics at a steady temperature, the mineral Mobil DTE 25 Ultra is the usual specification; DTE 10 Excel is the step up where temperature range, cleanliness or energy efficiency justify it.
Is Mobil DTE 10 Excel 46 the same as Mobil DTE 25 Ultra?
No — both are ISO VG 46 anti-wear hydraulic oils, but DTE 10 Excel 46 is a zinc-free, high-viscosity-index (VI 163) synthetic-technology oil meeting DIN 51524-3 HVLP and ISO L-HV as well as HLP, while DTE 25 Ultra is Mobil’s mineral HLP oil (DIN 51524-2 only). DTE 10 Excel is the premium choice for wide temperature swings, servo-valve systems and longer drain intervals.
Do not confuse it with Mobil DTE 25 Ultra (mineral HLP), Mobil DTE Oil Light/Medium (turbine and circulating oils) or Mobil DTE 10 Excel 32 (neighbouring grade). We will check the grade against your equipment before we quote.
What are the equivalents to Mobil DTE 10 Excel 46?
If you are consolidating brands across a site, the like-for-like ISO VG 46 products we stock are Shell Tellus S2 VX 46 and Castrol Hyspin AWH-M 46. All meet DIN 51524-3 HVLP; check the OEM approval you need before switching, and never mix mineral oils with PAG synthetics or fire-resistant fluids.

This page is the 20 litres pail. The same product is available as 208 L drum, and as a 1,000 litre IBC on request; drums and IBCs work out cheaper per litre once a site uses more than about 200 litres a month. Prices are quoted per enquiry, the same working day; orders over €10,000 receive a 10% discount and we price-match like-for-like genuine product.
